I’m excited to be presenting at the Kids Learning Loft on February 5th from 7:30pm-8:30pm. Come learn how to prepare for your child’s IEP meeting. I will be providing strategies to help you advocate for your child’s educational needs. I will also review information on the different placements, related services, accommodations/modifications and evaluations that may be available from your district. Be prepared for your next IEP meeting so you can provide valuable input into creating an appropriate IEP for your child. Please RSVP to Kids Learning Loft by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Kids Learning Loft is located at 436 Willis Ave., 1st Floor Suite 1, Williston Park, NY 11596. http://kidslearningloft.com
October is the perfect time for parents to ensure that their child is actually receiving the special education services they are entitled to according to his or her Individualized Education Program (“IEP”). Verifying that that your child’s program is in place and that he or she is getting the related services, accommodations and modifications is crucial to setting them up for a successful school year. If your child is not receiving his or her mandated services or if there are any issues with their program, it is important to address these with the district immediately.
